The GMI Partnership, established in 2008, is a collaboration between Positive East and Spectra
GMI is a partnership between Positive East and Spectra that began in 2008. Combining high quality HIV prevention and support services with a pan London reach and delivered through a shared skill set, staff and volunteer base, firmly anchored in diverse communities, the GMI Partnership makes it easier for everyone to access services by bringing it to them directly in spaces that feel more comfortable and less clinical.
We provide pan-London community-based sexual health services for diverse groups such as Men who have Sex with Men (MSM), People of Black Heritage, South Asian, Trans+, people fleeing persecution/seeking asylum, documented and undocumented migrant communities.
Our services include:

• Partnership Development: Building a stronger foundation by reinforcing our infrastructure and expanding our capacity to collaborate effectively.
• Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research: Advancing our research agenda to generate richer insights, guide our work, and fuel innovation.

Our ongoing outreach to MSM communities across London continues to make a powerful impact—more than 6,000 outreach sessions delivered in 200 venues, reaching an estimated 700,000 individuals with essential HIV prevention messages and support.
Each partner agency brought distinct strengths to the GMI Partnership. These include their experiences of long-established community work, connections with communities, stakeholders and health and social care professionals and their local knowledge in the areas of London in which they were established.
GMI operates under a robust Memorandum of Agreement (updated 2025), which establishes a clear and accountable governance structure. Strategic oversight and decision-making are shared between a highly experienced Executive Group and Steering Group, ensuring strong leadership and transparent management across all areas of the Partnership’s work.

Representation across the Executive Group, Steering Group, and staffing structure is evenly drawn from all three Partner organisations, reinforcing our unified identity and collaborative ethos.
